11.10.2012 EU Project Micro B3 meeting in Bremen

Successful first bioinformatics training of the EU Project Micro B3

Successful first bioinformatics training of the EU Project Micro B3 for Biodiversity, Bioinformatics and Biotechnology at the Max Planck Institute for Marine Microbiology in Bremen.

From October 8 to 12, 2012, 12 participants of the Micro B3 project joined the ax Planck Institute in Bremen for a training in sequence analysis and (meta)genome annotation hosted by Prof. Frank Oliver Glöckner of the MPI Bremen and the Jacobs University, together with his working group. After a three day introduction in fundamental sequence analysis ranging from databases to pairwise and multiple sequence analysis Pascal Hingamp from Université de la Méditerranée (alias Aix-Marseille II) introduced L'Annotathon with hands on experiences on so far not yet analysed sequences of the Tara Oceans expedition. The five-day event was complemented by a special lecture by Jack Gilbert from the Argonne National Lab.
