BNI Workshop

Biological Nitrification Inhibition Workshop
on Friday, June 27, 2025

This one-day workshop will take place after ICON9 and will focus on state-of-the-art research aiming to understand controls of soil nitrification in agroecosystems using established synthetic nitrification inhibitors (SNIs) and biological nitrification inhibitors (BNIs). The event will include invited speakers, contributed talks and roundtable discussions (more details to follow).

The workshop will be hosted by the Max Planck Institute for Marine Microbiology (only 5 mins walk from the ICoN meeting venue) and is limited to the first 50 applicants also registered for ICoN9. The workshop will finish at 3 pm.

The event is supported by the EU-funded program ‘Research Action Network for Reducing Reactive Nitrogen Losses from Agricultural Ecosystems’ under the HORIZON-WIDERA-2021-ACCESS-03 scheme.

Please email Graeme Nicol ([Bitte aktivieren Sie Javascript]) with any queries on the workshop.

Please register for the ICoN main meeting first to qualify for the BNI workshop.
